DARK ROOMS Selected for the 2026 Kaohsiung Film Festival XR Competition

DARK ROOMS Selected for the 2026 Kaohsiung Film Festival XR Competition

Dark Rooms has been officially selected for the XR DREAMLAND Competition at the 2026 Kaohsiung Film Festival, where it will have its Asia premiere this fall. This will also mark the first presentation of the work in Taiwan.

Co-produced by Denmark, Taiwan, and Germany, *Dark Rooms* is a multi-user immersive VR experience that brings audiences into the intimate lived experiences of four real people. Through first-person storytelling and embodied experience, audiences move through four inner spaces shaped by sexuality, identity, trauma, and personal transformation.

The work was selected for the 2025 Venice Immersive Competition and the 2026 SXSW XR Experience Competition, and received both the Grand Jury Prize and the Impact Award at the 2026 NewImages Festival. Following its presentations at international festivals, we’re glad to bring the complete work to Taiwan and share it with audiences here for the first time.

Dark Rooms is not a work that can be fully understood through words alone. It asks audiences to step inside, enter the darkness, and come close to memories that are not easily spoken.

We look forward to presenting Dark Rooms in Kaohsiung this fall.
