Earlier this month, Dark Rooms was presented in a new format at HYBRID Biennale, held at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, Germany.

Originally conceived as a free-roaming, multiplayer VR experience, two chapters of the work were adapted into a single-screen cinematic presentation. Shifting from immersive exploration in a virtual environment to a shared viewing experience in a theater, this adaptation offered a different perspective on the intimate stories at the heart of Dark Rooms.

Presented within HELLERAU's historic theater, this version brought the work into a new spatial and cinematic context, exploring how its narrative and atmosphere could be experienced beyond VR.
