Lunatic Town is an unprecedented 5G hybrid virtual and physical performance that must occur simultaneously across physical theaters, outdoor plazas, and online spaces. This involves cross-domain technology integration and requires ensuring that the audience can experience a complete theatrical experience across different dimensions. The key challenge in this creation is how to allow online viewers to actively participate, influence the development of the plot, and interact with live actors, rather than being passive observers.

Solution & Design Concept
NAXS STUDIO created an immersive online interactive experience by constructing a multi-dimensional, simultaneous virtual space, ensuring seamless connection between the online and offline theater. We utilized cloud streaming technology to create a fully browser-based online experience, allowing viewers to enter the virtual town instantly without downloading any additional apps, participating in the plot's progression. Additionally, with 5G streaming technology, multi-user connectivity, and game-like narrative design, online viewers can intervene in the three-dimensional world of the theater through a "four-dimensional" perspective and influence character decisions via comments and votes. This multi-layered viewing approach allows different types of audiences to experience unique levels of engagement, realizing a truly "immersive online theater."
The core concept of the online experience designed by NAXS STUDIO is the "God's-eye view," where the audience is not just a passive observer, but a key character driving the narrative forward. This design not only creates a closer interaction between the digital and real worlds but also emphasizes the concept of "viewer power" in online society, transforming traditional one-way storytelling into a real social experiment.
Outcome
In the end, Lunatic Town successfully connected the three-dimensional scenes, allowing over 250,000 online and offline viewers to participate simultaneously, achieving multi-perspective, high-definition live streaming through 5G technology. During the performances, audience interaction data became part of the story's development, making each performance unique. This not only marks a milestone for hybrid performances in Taiwan but also validates the limitless potential of digital immersive theater, providing a new paradigm for the integration of theater and technology in the future.
