Expanding on this concept, NAXS STUDIO created an animated video that digitally reconstructs SHAO YEN’s two ensembles representing “Spring–Summer” and “Autumn–Winter,” displayed on screens within the exhibition. Using photogrammetry, they developed a 3D facial model of Golden Horse Award-winning actress Karena Lam. The lighting was designed to echo her calm and serene presence—soft side lighting traces her facial contours, while low-contrast tones evoke a quiet, focused atmosphere aligned with the emotional tone of the work.
The sound design, produced by Taiwanese experimental folk band Prairie WWWW, layers gentle whispers within a soundscape of insects and birds—a poetic ode to the beauty of the earth.
For this project, SHAO YEN invited Hong Kong-based Karena Lam to make her debut in 3D animation as the “Goddess of Creation.” Enthusiastic about blending the ancient art of calligraphy with modern 3D technology, Lam traveled to Taiwan for the 3D scanning process. SHAO YEN, admiring her natural and composed demeanor, believes she possesses a quiet strength that perfectly embodies the spirit of the work.
